Costas Dimitriou, the president of the Federation of Greek Communities in Germany will be candidate for the position of treasurer in the World Council for Hellenes Abroad.

In an interview, the 42-year-old scientist from Cologne has underlined the importance of a representative CHA, and the proper management of its finances.

“The Council can and should become better,” he said. And to ensure this, it must become representative. One step in this direction is the upgrading of regional areas, so more people can participate in the assessment procedures.
In addition, he pointed out, the Council must operate on both a “micro-political” as well as a “macro-political” level.

Dimitriou was born in Cologne, Germany in 1965 of immigrant parents from Epirus. He has studied Forestry in Greece, followed by Computer Science and Economics in Germany. Married with a child, he works as a scientific associate in the Computer Science department of the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne.
